Second Body Practice
February – April, 2010

Dear Still Water Friends,

second bodyThe Still Water Mindfulness Practice Center invites you to take part in a Second Body Practice from February through April, 2010. The Second Body Practice is a wonderful way to strengthen your practice of mindfulness and build a deeper relationships with someone else in the community.

Each person participating in the Second Body practice will be paired with a partner from the community. The two of you will then designate a time each week to check in with each other, by phone or in person, to practice deep listening. A check-in of a half-hour to an hour each week is suggested. You and your partner will take turns talking about your practice and your life. The Second Body is there to listen compassionately, to reflect back what he or she is hearing, and to offer support.

It is very important that you are willing and committed to maintain regular contact with your partner throughout this three-month period. If you are likely to be hard to reach or simply unable to make this commitment, please refrain from signing up at this time. The purpose of the Second Body Practice is to deepen the practice of mindfulness and nourish spiritual friendships. It should in no way be considered a match-making or dating service.

If you wish to take part in this practice, please cut and paste the application form below and email it to annie@circleyoga.com.

If you have any questions please email Annie (annie@circleyoga.com) or call her at 202-686-1104.

More information about the Second Body Practice as used in the Plum Village community is on our web site in the resources section.

Warm wishes,

The Still Water MPC Working Group
