Ceremonies

Ceremonies remind us of our interconnectedness with one another and with all species in the animal, plant, and mineral worlds. Some ceremonies, such as the Three Touchings of the Earth, honor and express our gratitude to our ancestors, parents, and teachers. Some ceremonies have a particular purpose, such as the recitation of the Five Mindfulness Trainings. When we practice ceremonies as a community, or at home as individuals, we are able to renew our aspirations to grow in understanding, lovingkindness, and compassion, and to live and practice together in harmony.
