    The Still Water Mindfulness Practice Center nurtures all who wish to practice Mindfulness. We are part of a world-wide network of communities inspired by the teachings and practices of Thich Nhat Hanh. We offer weekly mindfulness meditation groups, workshops, retreats and special events in Maryland and Washington, DC.

      Lotuses, Food, & Mindful Friends

      You are invited to join the Still Water community on Sunday morning, August 4th, 2019, for a visit to the National Park Service’s Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens. Lotuses and water lilies from around the world will be in bloom. Friends, family, and dogs on leashes are all most welcome to attend.

      We’ll walk, look, breathe, eat, and chat together.

      A Calm Mind and A Joyful Heart: An Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

      During this 90-minute workshop we will explore mindfulness as a daily practice and become familiar with conscious breathing, sitting meditation, and walking meditation.

      Smiling like a Buddha: A Six-Session Mindfulness Meditation Class

      Intended for both new and experienced practitioners, the class will explore conscious breathing, developing/deepening a sitting practice, walking meditation, mindfulness in everyday life, recognizing and accepting feelings and emotions, transforming anger, nurturing love, developing compassion, and hugging meditation.

      Still Water 2019 Fall Practice Retreat

      The Still Water Fall Practice Retreat offers us the possibility of releasing our inner running and developing the habit of arriving with each moment, each step, each experience. Through mindful sitting, walking, eating, and living, we learn to embrace and look deeply into what is present in each moment. Please save the date.
