Sun, September 25, 2:00 pm–5:00 pm

Dear Friends,
The Still Water Mindfulness Practice Center cordially invites our friends who facilitate, or would like to facilitate, mindfulness groups in the Plum Village tradition to a special facilitators training on Sunday, September 25, 2016, 2:00- 5:00 pm, at the Yoga Center of Columbia.
In Happiness: Essential Mindfulness Practices, Thich Nhat Hanh writes:
Dharma discussion is an opportunity to benefit from each other's insights and experience of the practice. It is a special time for us to share our experiences, our joys, our difficulties and our questions relating to the practice of mindfulness. By practicing deep listening while others are speaking, we help create a calm and receptive environment. By learning to speak out about our happiness and our difficulties in the practice, we contribute to the collective insight and understanding of the Sangha.
Our afternoon together will include sitting and walking meditation and a program addressing:
- preparing for a gathering
- inviting the bell
- orientation of newcomers
- selection of topics
- Dharma sharing
- promoting diversity and inclusion
Even if you have been a facilitator for many years, we hope you can join us to share your experiences with other experienced facilitators and with practitioners just learning to facilitate mindfulness groups in the Plum Village tradition.
There is no required fee for this event. However, please register online so that we will know how many participants to expect. if you have questions or concerns, please email Tim McCormack at TFMcCormack@Yahoo.com.
Warm wishes,
The Still Water Working Group
