Mon, January 1
Mon, January 1, 10:00 am–11:45 am
You are invited to join the Still Water community for a special online New Year’s Day gathering.
Thich Nhat Hanh said in a 2013 Dharma talk about the coming New Year:
You know that for the year to be new, you have to renew yourself. You have to make yourself new. That is why in Plum Village this year we have the sentence 'New Year, New Me'. I need to have a new me in order to enjoy the New Year. … The year that is going to end is our invention, our fabrication, our product. The value of the year depends on our way of acting, reacting, our way of living our life. The value of the year depends on our way of life.
We will begin our gathering with a sitting and then watch part of “Can the New Year Really Be a New Year?,” the talk from which the above quote is taken.
After a short break, we will share in small groups our aspirations to become a “new me” in 2024. After that, we will share in the large group our aspirations for ourselves and the world.
Everyone is welcome, including family, friends, and pets.
This special event will replace our regular 7:00 am Monday morning sitting. We will use that session's usual Zoom link, so if you already have it, that’s all you need.
If you don’t have it, please complete the simple registration form and we will send you the link.
Wishing you a 2024 full of peace, joy, love, and wholeness.
