Fri, May 25, 12:30 pm–1:00 pm

Please join us to practice Loving-kindness Meditation on the last Friday of each month at 12:30 pm in Lafayette Square, across from the White House. We gather at the southwest corner of the park, near the Rochambeau statue. We sit for 25 minutes sending loving-kindness to ourselves, our loved ones, those we know, those with whom we have difficulties, and all beings. We then have an opportunity to briefly share our experiences.
We sit on the ground, weather permitting, so please bring what you need to make yourself comfortable, such as a plastic bag and a cushion or bench. If it is raining or Montgomery County, MD, schools are closed due to weather, we will cancel the sit on our Facebook page, which is here. We hope you will join us!
(Andrew Olendzki's article, "No Exceptions," elucidates the importance of metta meditation in a political context that is asking us to demonize the other side. It is available on the Tricycle website and as a pdf here.)
