Youth groups from around the world are asking students and young people to attend Climate Strike events (rather than school or work) on Friday, September 20. And they are asking people of all ages to support the movement by joining the events.

A local group, DC Youth Climate Strike, is the lead organizer for a march and rally in the District of Columbia on September 20th, from 11 am to 2 pm. Current plans are to gather at John Marshall Park. Local organizational supporters include the local Earth Holder Community (an Earth Justice Initiative in the Plum Village Plum tradition), One Earth Sangha, and the local chapter of Interfaith Power and Light.

Still Water as an organization is supporting the Youth Climate Strike. Still Water practitioners and friends are invited to join other regional Plum Village Sanghas, as well as members of other meditation traditions, at an all-invited sitting meditation beginning at 10 am to the northwest of John Marshall Park, just across C St . (The John Marshall Park is located just north of Pennsylvania Avenue, between 4th and 5th Streets, NW, between the Canadian Embassy and the US District Court. Link to Google Map)
